Oyegun-must-go project heats up in APC

If there is one person, or political party that is totally upset by recent verdicts of the Supreme Court which affirmed the election of some PDP governors, in mostly oil rich states of the south-south zone, it is the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and his All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC national chairman lamented that the loss of those states, and their rich resources, was a blow to his party, in spite of the fact that price of crude oil has dropped in the international market.

Oyegun who spoke in Abuja during a meeting with a delegation of the party from Rivers State led by it governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside called for the investigation of Supreme Court judges, especially in the wake of the recent rulings on governorship petitions.

Oyegun said, “Your visit has had a sober effect on me… I still find the judgement on the Rivers State governorship election totally astonishing. There is something fundamentally wrong in the judiciary.

“We have lost very important resource-rich states to the PDP. No matter how crude oil prices have fallen, it is still the most important revenue earner for the country.”
Speaking earlier on behalf of the delegation, Peterside said since they lost the case, the feeling of the people in the state was that of orphan.

He stated that the only consolation they had was the ministerial appointment given to their leader and former governor of the state, Chibuike Ameachi.
