SDP, Donald Duke quit CUPP

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Tuesday, announced that it had pulled out of the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP.

The party made the announcement through its National Publicity Secretary, Alpha Mohammed in Abuja.

The party which has the former governor of Cross Rivers state, Donald Duke as its presidential candidate also announced that it would commence campaign on the 19th of December.

The short announcement reads, ”SDP pulls out of CUPP, kick-starts campaign on 19th December…: Details later”

The CUPP is a group of about 45 political parties who are on the opposition.

The group had last week endorsed the candidature of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for the 2019 general election while the APC distanced itself from such endorsement.

The party subsequently promised to give its stand this week
