For the second time, AGF shuns Senate summon

For the second time, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, AGF, Abubakar Malami, failed to honour the Senate summons to explain the charge he filed against the Senate President Bukola Saraki, and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu at an Abuja High Court.

The Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters had waited for Malami only for him to send a representative, whom the committee reportedly denied audience.

The Senate had last Tuesday summoned Malami, but he failed to honour the invitation. He was again summoned to appear before the Senate committee this Thursday, but again, he failed to appear.

Malami was said to have written the Senate on 23rd June requesting for a rescheduling of the meeting, to afford him an ample time to prepare his response.

The summons was then deflected to hold Thursday, June 30, a day he also failed to show up.

The Senate made this much known on its twitter handle:
