Secondus warns Oshiomhole, challenges Buhari to campaign in person, not by proxy

KILLINGS: First Libya, then Boko Haram, and now politicians; Secondus mocks Buhari

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, Uche Secondus has warned his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, to desist from insulting Nigerian leaders.

This was even as he also challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to take up his campaign himself and not by delegating people to do so for him, or by using a ‘cabal’.

Secondus stated this on Friday when he presented the PDP’s flag to the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr Jimi Agbaje, who was represented by his deputy, Mrs. Haleemat Busari; the party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State, Oladipo Adebutu, and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde.

Oshiomhole had recently attacked former President, Olusegun Obasanjo over his support for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

The APC chairman had said may God punish Obasanjo for supporting Atiku, having once said that God would not forgive him if he supported Atiku.

Many Nigerians had condemned Oshiomhole for saying that including an APC governor, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State.

Secondus, adding his voice said, “The chairman of the APC should stop insulting the leaders of this country.”

On Buhari, Secondus wondered how the Nigerian President had insisted on refusing to talk to Nigerians but finds it easy to respond to sensitive national issues when he is on foreign trips.

He therefore called on Buhari to order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to be neutral in all political issues.

“Buhari should order INEC and security agencies to be neutral . Nigerians are wise; this is a President who does not communicate with them. He only talks when he goes outside Nigeria. Nigerians are confused and cannot understand him and yet he said he’s coming back , to do what?

“You are not talking to Nigerians, you can’t persuade them, you can’t order the security agencies and you can’t order INEC. The President should be bold to talk to the INEC chairman and the security agencies.

“This is a government of cabals and Nigerians will reject them in 2019 because they don’t even know who is in charge, whether it’s their president or a cabal.

“Nigerians are dying in their numbers, yet the emperors of the APC will be talking about integrity and more people are hungry. Nigerians will pass their judgment in 2019; you can no longer deceive Nigerians . We challenge the President to campaign, not by proxy or cabal.”
