IPOB kicks against Operation Python Dance in Southeast, says there is not insecurity

Any attempt by supporters of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to cause problems in Imo State during its sit-at-home orde, will be crushed, security agencies have warned.

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo gave the warning on behalf of the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services, DSS and police at a press conference in Owerri on Tuesday.

Ladodo, who was flanked by heads of other security agencies in the state during the press conference, said they would not tolerate any act of lawlessness from the pro-biafran group during Thursday May 30 sit-at-home order.

According to the CP, there was no other country inside Nigeria, adding that the group led by Nnamdi Kanu was illegal and unconstitutional.

Ladodo also noted that IPOB members were free to sit at home on Thursday or any other day they choose.

He said: “The security agencies in Imo State have met and we have agreed that we will not allow IPOB or any lawless group to truncate the peace we enjoy in the state.

“Anybody is free to sit at home if they like, but we will not allow anybody to molest the law-abiding people of Imo State all in the name of sit-at-home. We are warning members of IPOB to be careful.

“We have the capacity and capability to defend the people of the state; we have mapped out our operational strategy for May 30. We want to urge the good people of Imo State not to be fearful.”
