See list of mansions under EFCC probe in US, UK allegedly owned by corrupt Nigerians

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is now focusing its radar on some mansions, in highbrow areas of the United States and United Kingdom allegedly acquired with illicit funds by Nigerians.

The agency believes the properties may be owned former Nigerian ministers and governors who seem to have perfected a means of stashing their loot abroad under fictitious names, or using fronts.

A source at the agency revealed that the properties were traced to funds from the arms procurement funds, as well as the election bribe money said to have been given out by a former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

According to the source, a number of heads of parastatals, and businessmen were also found to have benefitted from the loot, also stashing their share abroad by acquiring property in the foreign countries through corporate entities.

He said that the agency is slao following up on some properties that are linked to the illicit funds in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Switzerland, Russia, South Africa, France and even Mali.

He said that efforts were on to seize the identified properties, as the EFCC is working with the appropriate authorities in those countries to gather enough evidence to show that they are proceeds of graft.

Nigerians are wealthy, but would rather spend their wealth outside the shores of our country. We not only dread ourselves, we despise our own lands.

Well, if efcc are sure of this, let them auction the properties at low prices and gather all the money realised from it to the coffer of the government so we can have more money to finance our budget.

Useless politicians! Nigeria is not big enough to acquire properties with the money they stole from government, they went abroad to buy properties. Nemesis will soon catch up on them

Nigerian politicians are the most stupid set of politicians I have ever seen in my life. How many times have they heard that whitemen politicians launder money to Nigeria or buying properties in Nigeria?

Instead of acquiring properties in abroad, is it not better to buy the properties here in Nigeria then lease them out with cheap money . at least they are in one way helping the economy that way instead of taking our money down to abroad.

Our leaders are foolish because they believe so much on the white and that is why white people are far better than Nigeria
