Senate worried, proposes summit on security in Nigeria

Nigerian Senate will on Wednesday, July 24, begin screening and confirmation of the 43 ministerial nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was disclosed by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, after reeling out the list on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.

According to him, other legislative activities of the lawmakers would now take a back seat to allow for the quick completion of the important assignment.

He said, “The screening of the ministerial nominees will commence tomorrow morning. All other legislative activities will take back stage for this very important national assignment.”

Buhari, who was inaugurated into office for another four-year term on May 29, finally sent in a list of those he wants as members of his second term cabinet on Tuesday.
