New Senate bill seeks to tax Nigerians for GSM, cable TV services

Senate has approved the nomination of Aliyu Saidu Abubakar as non-executive commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

His approval comes after the 8th Senate led by Bukola Saraki, had in 2016 rejected his nomination for the post.

Abubakar represents the Northeast geopolitical zone in the commission. He was confirmed on Thursday along with Eng Uba Maska, who was reappointed executive commissioner (North West); Professor Millionaire Abowei, non-Executive director (South South), and Abdulazeez Mohammed Salman (North Central).
