Senate decries shameful state of Nigeria’s foreign missions

The Senate, on Tuesday, decried the state of Nigeria’s foreign missions. It said the condition of foreign missions was embarrassing.
It revealed that some foreign missions may soon lose their buildings to host countries, over Nigeria’s inability to renovate the dilapidated structures.

It also revealed that staff in the various foreign missions can no longer pay their rents‎, while the school fees of their children are yet to be paid by the Federal Government.

To this end, the Senate has resolved to set up an adhoc committee to engage stakeholders and the Federal Government, on ways to address the state of Nigeria’s foreign missions.
