Senate worried, proposes summit on security in Nigeria

The Nigerian Senate has said that it would on Wednesday (tomorrow) inaugurate its standing committees.

This was announced by Senate President Ahmad Lawan after a closed-door session of the lawmakers on Tuesday.

The lawmakers, upon resumption from their annual recess on Tuesday, started the day’s business with an executive session.

Speaking after the session, Lawan said that the Senate resolved to inaugurate all its standing committees at plenary on Wednesday.

He said that the senate also resolved during the executive session to await the presentation of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper as well as the 2020 budget proposals by President Muhammadu Buhari.
