Senate worried, proposes summit on security in Nigeria

The Senate on Tuesday gave the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) two weeks for the defence of their annual budget proposals.

The upper legislative chamber stated this following the conclusion of debate on the general principles of the 2020 Appropriation Bill.

Speaking on the directive, the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan said that any agency that fails to appear before the relevant committee to defend its budget during the period would not have revenue allocation for next year.

To allow the MDAs to defend their budget proposals before its standing committees, the Senate adjourned its plenary for two weeks.
