The Nigeria Senate Committee on Appropriation is alleged to have raised the 2020 budget.

The committee purportedly increased the capital part of the 2020 Appropriation Bill by N450 billion.

The report of the committee was submitted to the Senate on Wednesday by its chairman, Senator Barau Jibrin.

According to the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, the recommendations of the committee would be looked into during Thursday (tomorrow’s) plenary.

The development is coming just as the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, also on Wednesday raised the 2020 Appropriation Bill by about N27 billion, from N10.33 trillion to about N10.6 trillion.
