Senate refers 2020-2022 MTEF/FSP documents to Finance Committee

Senate worried, proposes summit on security in Nigeria

The Nigerian Senate has referred the 2020-2022 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) documents to its Finance Committee.

The committee, which has one week to do its work on the documents, is expected to present its report on Wednesday, October 2, at plenary.

The documents were referred to the committee on Thursday following the adoption of a motion to that effect moved by the Senate Leader, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North).

The motion was seconded by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnanya Abaribe (Abia South).

Afterwards, Senate President Ahmad Lawan referred the document to the Finance Committee headed by Senator Adeola Olamilekan (Lagos West).

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday sent the document to the lawmakers.
