Senate worried, proposes summit on security in Nigeria

A bill seeking to establish a commission for the prohibition of hate speech passed first reading on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday.

The bill was sponsored by the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Sabi Abdulahi, who had sponsored a similar bill during the 8th Senate, seeking death penalty for offenders.

The bill is titled National Commission for the Prohibition of Hate Speeches (Estb., etc) Bill 2019.
