The Adamawa state police command has confirmed the killing of an uncle of Elisha Abbo, the senator representing Adamawa north, on Saturday in the state.

Suleiman Yahaya, the command spokesman, also revealed that the senator’s step mother was abducted.

Yahaya said the incident occurred around 3am on Saturday at Abbo’s family house in Muchalla village, Mubi north local government area.

He explained that the abductors were taking away the step mother identified as Rifkatu when Abbo’s uncle came out of his house nearby and raised the alarm and was immediately shot dead.

The command’s spokesman said the identity of Abbo’s uncle would be released later.
