Oyo traders, others to pay N10 dally tax

Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s hope of retiring from Government House into the Senate has crashed, following his defeat by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Kola Balogun, for Oyo South senatorial district.

The Oyo State governor, who ran on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was clearly defeated by Balogun with a vote difference of 13,502.

The PDP candidate scored a total vote of 105,720 to defeat Ajimobi, who poled 92,217 votes.

The returning officer of the district, Wole Akinsola, announced the result on Monday morning at the INEC collation centre located in Ibadan North LGA.

Of the 10 local government areas in the senatorial district, while Balogun won in six, Governor Ajimobi won in three.
