Robbery gang in court for stealing N6.4m raw materials

Amudalat Afolabi, a 40-year-old housewife has told an Ilorin Area Court, Kwara State, that her husband, Tajudeen wants a divorce and has even thrown her out of their matrimonial home for refusing to abort a six-month-old pregnancy.

She described her husband as “an irresponsible man” when she testified in a divorce petition filed against her spouse in Ilorin, on Thursday.

Also addressing the court, 50-year-old, Tajudeen prayed the court to dissolve his marriage with his wife contracted in 1996 who he claimed abandoned their matrimonial home leaving him to care alone for their five kids.

“I am fed up with her waywardness. She is not stable and always frames excuses for her actions.

“I pray the court to put an end to this union because my wife can kill me as she moves around town like a dog.”

He also urged the court to award him custody of the children.

The wife was not opposed to the dissolution of the 20-year-old marriage.

“My husband sent me away from our matrimonial home because I refused to terminate the six months pregnancy I am carrying, I am tired of being enslaved by a “useless man”, she said.
