Serena Williams announces her engagement to Reddit co-founder Alexis

Tennis superstar Serena Williams has made public her current relationship status with 33-year-old Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

She made the announcement via a poem she wrote on her official Reddit page on Thursday.

Serena’s poetical lines revealed that she arrived home to see a carriage waiting to take her on a surprise trip to Rome where her and Alexis’ stars first collided, revealing that they sat at the same table where they first met ‘by chance’ but was now ‘by choice’.

Here’s Serena’s poem:

I came home
A little late
Someone had a bag packed for me
And a carriage awaited
Destination: Rome
To escort me to my very own “charming”
Back to where our stars first collided
And now it was full circle
At the same table we first met by chance
This time he made it not by chance
But by choice
Down on one knee
He said 4 words
And
I said Yes

The pair reportedly met in 2015 but have kept their relationship mostly private until Serena’s announcement.

She however shared a picture of them together last November on her Instagram, even after Alexis was spotted at Wimbledon in June this year where Serena won a Slam for the seventh time.
