2 wins in 2 for Juve, Ronaldo yet to score

Gunning for an eight consecutive Serie A title, Juventus defeated Lazio on Saturday to make it two victories in the two games played so far this season, with Cristiano Ronaldo firing blanks.

The Italian giants, who struggled to beat Chievo last weekend, saw off Lazio 2-0 at their home ground thanks to goals by Miralem Pjanić and Mario Mandzukic.

Portuguese superstar Ronaldo, who moved to the club from Real Madrid this season, has featured the entire 180 minutes, and was making his home debut against Lazio.

It was Pjanic’s delightful finish from 25 yards that put the Italian champions ahead on the half-hour mark, before Mandzukic sealed the win with a struck from close range on 75 minutes.

Right there at the Allianz Stadium, fans held up banners cheering Ronaldo, who touched the ball only once in the Lazio penalty area in the first half, and had a shot tipped over in the second half.

Juve now have six points from two games and will face Parma in their next league encounter.

Lazio have lost both their opening games, having lost at home to Napoli last weekend.
