Shehu Sani dubs APC a fake party

Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, who recently dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC), has suggested that his former party is a fake party.

The senator on Thursday called on the ruling APC to know that a party that wants to “deliver change should not fake a pregnancy”.

Sani left the ruling party after he was denied a return ticket to the Senate despite initially being cleared by the Adams Oshiomhole led national leadership of the APC as a sole candidate for the senatorial zone.

The attack on his former party was in response to a statement by APC national publicity secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, where he tried to justify the outcome of the party’s controversial primaries.

Sani, who apparently is still ruing the treatment meted out to him by the party, said the primaries of the APC was an “organised crime and a coronation of fraud”.

This was contained in a statement his special adviser, Comrade Suleiman Ahmed, made available to journalists in Abuja.

“A party that wants to deliver change should not fake a pregnancy. The APC reneged on its word, breached its laws, concurred with illegalities and inanities and suppressed its appeal panel report,” he said.

Further describing the primaries as an “industrial scale fraud of roguish proportions”, he said the primaries was nothing but a “ruse and charade” which cannot stand the test of time.

“It was a packaged hoax, a synchronised scam”, he said adding that the just-concluded APC primaries was “a violent desecration of the moral pedestal upon which the party purports its legitimacy.”

According to the senator, those making efforts to defend the exercise and its outcome are people without honour.

He described the primary in his senatorial zone, where Governor El-Rufai’s anointed candidate, Uba Sani emerged as APC senatorial candidate as a “dubious exercise compiled by the governor of the state and executed by a queue of clownish delegates handpicked and written by the so-called winner”.

The angry senator, who has now joined People’s Redemption Party (PRP) added that the primaries of his former party constituted a pre-determined “fleecing exercise and scam used to subvert the will of Nigerians”.
