#Quitnotice: Fayose blames Buhari

Ekiti State governor and chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Ayodele Fayose, has described the party’s national chairman Ali Modu Sheriff as “an impostor, an impossible character, agent of darkness” sent by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destroy PDP.

The angry governor was reacting to the action of Senator Sheriff who walked out on party leaders during a pre-reconciliation meeting summoned by former President Goodluck Jonathan and held in Abuja on Thursday.

Sherif was said to have stormed out of the meeting because he was not allowed the chance to address the members in his capacity as the chairman of the party.

Following that action, Fayose in a statement by his chief press secretary on Friday, said Sheriff was nothing but “an impostor, an impossible character, agent of darkness sent by the APC to destroy the PDP”.

He continued, “I will not work with him. He is a betrayer of confidence and does not represent peace and hope. I will not be part of any meeting with such a desperado. If I may holistically respond to his statement on no reconciliation, the response is good riddance to bad rubbish.”

Fayose, who further said that members of the party still supporting Sheriff are enemies of Nigeria, vowed that there was no way they will succeed in their plans with the ruling APC to turn Nigeria into a single party.

“Sheriff has said he can no longer work with Jonathan or any of the PDP leaders. This is an indication that he prefers working with the opposition in order to destroy the PDP,” Fayose said.

Jonathan had in a bid to reunite Sheriff and Senator Ahmed Makarfi factions of the party, along with chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, and other chieftains convened the meeting which was well attended by members of the factional groups before Sheriff stormed out.
