Sheriff holding PDP to ransom just to hijack 2019 presidential ticket –Makarfi

The PDP Caretaker Committee, led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has alleged that the only intention of the national chairman of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff,is to hijack the party’s 2019 presidential ticket.

The group therefore cautioned PDP members to be wary of Sheriff, insisting that he is not a person to be trusted to conduct the party’s national convention.

This was made known to newsmen by the spokesperson of Makarfi-led PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, during a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

He said, “If allowed to conduct the convention, Sheriff would plant his cronies in strategic positions for his selfish ends.”

While answering question on whether he would be contesting the 2019 presidential election at a media briefing on Monday, Sheriff had said, “Every position I have occupied, God made it possible. I am a firm believer in the will of God. I told you I will not run for chairmanship position. I didn’t tell you any other thing. The rest, we leave to God.”

But reacting on that statement, Adeyeye said there was nothing else Sheriff is scheming if not how to grab PDP’s presidential ticket in 2019.

Adeyeye said, “We have seen the handwriting on the wall. What Sheriff is doing is geared towards one goal; and that is to hijack the presidential ticket of the PDP come 2019.

“The former Borno State governor has clearly stated that he is interested in contesting the 2019 presidential election using the platform of our party, the PDP. We said it earlier, but most non- party members, as well as some members of the party who could not see beyond the curtains didn’t believe it.

“But we were sure that Senator Sheriff was holding the party to ransom because he wants to hijack the party and use it for his selfish interest. Having Sheriff as presidential candidate would be a death sentence for the PDP.”

Since the Port Harcourt Appeal Court ruling authenticated Sheriff as the party leader to the chagrin of majority members of PDP, the messy situation PDP has found itself has continued to worsen with both sides trading words while many of their members defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The outcome of the appeal at the Supreme Court by the caretaker committee against Sheriff, may be the defining moment of what will become of PDP, the once acclaimed largest political party in Africa.

Sheriff has said he is not going to contest so why is Markafi saying rubbish. Markafi is too greedy and I think the police should arrest him for going against the law. Court has upheld sheriff’s victory.

Let Markafi and his faction keep bothering themselves, nobody can remove Sheriff from being the Chairmanship of PDP and if he successfully gets the president ticket come 2019, they will have to accept him. The earlier they work hand in hand, the better it will be for PDP

Sheriff sounded so much like Jonathan who rose from the grass root to positions of authorities, until he eventually became the president by grace.

“Every position I have occupied, God made it possible. I am a firm believer in the will of God. I told you I will not run for chairmanship position. I didn’t tell you any other thing,” sorry Mr. Sheriff, 2019 is 100% not sure for you, we cannot afford to have another “Goodluch” to destabilize our country for us.

Having Sheriff as presidential candidate would be a death sentence for the PDP, no doubt! Having any presidential candidate from PDP with Sheriff as the party chairman is also a death sentence for the party! Sheriff is the evil man who should be removed with immediate effect in order to have peace in the party. Sheriff has keen interest in becoming the president of Nigeria, we will never allow this happen. He’s power drunk!

It’s already late for pdp to think of bouncing back. Apc is in charge for the next 50 years. Pdp should go start from the crash again.
