Shooting reported in in Dutch city of Utrecht, several injured

The Dutch police have reported a man opening fire on a tram in city of Utrecht which has led to the several people being injured.

A police spokesman said the gunman fled the scene by car immediately after the shoot out.

The shooting took place around the 24 Oktoberplein junction at about 10:45 am. Three helicopters have been despatched to monitor the incident.

An eyewitness told Dutch news that ‘’a man started shooting wildly’’ while Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said the government has been holding meetings after the shooting.
