Show of unity! Ambode, Sanwo-Olu all smiles as they arrive APC convention together

In what is a statement of unity after a bitter governorship primary, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 election, both arrived the ongoing convention of the party together in Abuja.

On the eve of the primary, Ambode had launched a vicious attack on Sanwo-Olu, questioning his mental health and integrity.

He went on to lose the primary in a heavy thrashing to Sanwo-Olu, who enjoyed the support of Bola Tinubu’s Mandate Group and that of virtually all political leaders in the party in Lagos.

Speculations were rife that Ambode would break ranks with his party and seek to pursue his ambition elsewhere.

But with his concession speech and this show of unity, the speculations may have finally been laid to rest.

They, alongside delegates from across the 36 states and the FCT, are gathered in Abuja to affirm the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari for the 2019 presidential election.
