Latest reports emanating from the Nigeria Football Federation reveal that U-23 Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, and NFF technical Director, Amodu Shuiabu have been put on standby to tinker the Super Eagles against Egypt following the resignation of Sunday Oliseh as the coach of the senior national team.

Siasia handled the Eagles between 2010 and 2011, but was fired after he failed to qualify the country to the 2012 AFCON in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea while Amodu qualified Nigeria to the 2002 and 2010 World Cups.

Ripples Nigeria gathered that there is also a consideration of newly appointed U-20 Flying Eagles coach, Emmanuel Amunike as well as the current Assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf, to be part of the coaching crew who are saddled with the responsibility of qualifying Nigeria for the 2017 Nations Cup.

Egypt are top of the qualifying group for Gabon 2017 with six points from two matches.

Nigeria are in second place with four points, Tanzania are third with just a point, while Chad are bottom without any points.

Only winners of each group will advance to the biennial championship in Gabon in January 2017.
