Nigeria U-23 Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, has named Granada of Spain striker, Isaac Success and Liverpool’s Taiwo Awoniyi to lead his team’s attack after naming a 21-man squad for the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
The duo was part of the squad that won the under-17 title in 2013 but there was no room for Victor Osimhen who emerged as top scorer at last month’s Under-17 World Cup in Chile.
Twelve players from the squad that won a bronze medal at this year’s All African Games in Congo-Brazzaville, including Erhun Obanor, Kingsley Sokari, Etor Daniel and Mustapha Abdullahi, are axed from the list of selected players.
The event kicks off on 28 November and will be played in Dakar and M’bour with the final set for 12 December.

The U-23 Eagles who will be campaigning in Group B alongside Egypt, Algeria and Mali will have to brace up for a tougher challenge after failing to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics crashing out in the group stages of the qualifying tournament in Morocco.
Group A consists of Senegal, South Africa, Zambia and Tunisia while the top three from the tournament will qualify for next year’s Rio Olympics.
Nigeria won gold medals at the Atlanta Games in 1996 and finished runners-up at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
