Singer Simisola Ogunleye popularly known in music circles as Simi has officially parted ways with her record label X3M Music, breaking a union cemented five-years ago when she penned a record deal.

Her departure from the Lagos-based music label was made public by the A&R executive of the outfit, Vincent Nwanze who informed that Simi is moving on, following the expiration of her recording contract.

Nwanze in a statement also revealed while announcing the exit of the artiste that both parties decided not to renew the contract and agreed to part ways on temporal terms.

The statement issued by Nwanze reads; We only sign artistes that we love and believe in. We know our taste in music is rather different; but we only sign talents who meet that taste.

“Fortunately, we have been able to find millions of music lovers here and abroad, who share similar tastes, as is evident in the success of all the artistes we have worked with, including Simi who is without any doubt one of the biggest music talents in the country today.”

While still under the employ of X3M Music, Simi who is now married to a popular singer Adekunle Gold dropped two commercially successful albums titled ‘Simisola’ and the second dubbed ‘Omo Charlie Champagne’ to critical acclaim.
