Singer YQ shares battle with ‘his demons’

Pop singer YQ has shared a lucid experience of his one-time battle with depression and suicidal thoughts which he described as fighting his demons.

In a post on his Instagram page, the artiste said he knows what it feels like battling depression as he conquered his demons with prayers.

The singer wrote thus on his page; “More than meets the eye. As a survivor i know what it feels like but i can only explain how i conquered those demons with a video.

“PRAYER, stubborn and relentless prayer is the number one and major weapon. Try get close to one or two people that can help you with motivational words and pray with you often.

“Oppression, competition, humiliation, bullying, never allow people do those things to you.
“Find people that can make you smile without judging you by your mistakes and situations and make those people your family.

“Lastly, search your heart. DO YOU HAVE FAITH? are you a kind person inside? Do u see other people doing well or better than you and you always feel you are supposed to be in their position instead of thanking God for your own life and praying for HIM to lead you on according to HIS own time?

“Reminder; HAVE YOU PRAYED AND THANKED GOD FOR BREATHE TODAY?

“DO YOU BELIEVE HIS MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING?

“CAN YOU WAIT PATIENTLY while you continue hustling and hoping for that breakthrough?
“IF YES THEN cheers!

YQ’s message comes days after Lagos-based DJ, Seun Omogaji aka Xgee committed suicide after having issues with his wife.

Reports say the pair fell out over irreconcilable differences as his wife later packed out of their matrimonial home and he had been begging her to return to no avail.

The wife’s decision to leave and her failure to return inevitably forced the late DJ into depression which later made him take his own life.

Seun reportedly decided he had endured enough when he decided to escape his problems by drinking “Sniper,” a strong insecticide.

The DJ’s post on his Instagram page before he committed suicide reads thus; “Okay there is a twist to this last respect ppl give to their loved ones when gone.Black as signs of sadness ..but in my case please Rock WHITE Cos i love this colour so much.

“To all have made smiled and to those i have pissed off trust me im only being Human. Enikorewa i love u so much , Eriayo u name sums it all up u are truly d reason for my Joy.

“Omobolanle ajoke u know i care .. Moradeke my mum may my God heal u and to my in-Laws Stay Blessed Always.”
