S'KADUNA KILLINGS: Again Osinbajo promises that perpetrators won't escape justice

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has vowed that the Federal Government will ensure that those involved in southern Kaduna killings won’t escape justice, no matter how long it takes.

He has also ordered further security reinforcements in Kaduna State following reports of communal clashes that resulted in the loss of lives earlier this week in Kajuru, Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.

The Vice President’s promise is coming on the heels of previous killings in the southern Kaduna area as well as other parts of the country.

Despite promises by the government, and the security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly acts, and bring them to book, not much has been done in that direction.

Osinbajo’s reaction was contained in a statement released Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande.

Professor Osinbajo, who commiserated with families of the victims, the government and people of Kaduna State, and wished the injured victims speedy recovery, also commended the prompt response and efforts of the state government, and security agencies in restoring peace in the area.

While condemning the act of violence in strong terms, the acting president noted that the security challenges in southern Kaduna which has led to the needless deaths is a source of concern for President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and indeed all well-meaning Nigerians.

Osinbajo assures that no effort would be spared in identifying and bringing perpetrators of these dastardly acts, against innocent Nigerians to justice no matter how long or hard it may take.

According to him, Nigerians in the area and everywhere in the country have a right to live in peace, and the Federal Government considers this its sacred duty: ensuring such expectation.

“We will not relent and won’t be deterred in our pursuit of securing the lives and property of all Nigerians, everywhere and in every part of this nation. In the end, we will not only secure the peace all around, but we shall enforce justice for the victims and all of those that are affected,” he declared.

Eyewitness report claimed that over 30 people were killed while several persons were injured in the violence that involved farmers and alleged Fulani herdsmen in southern Kaduna.
