Snake chases lawmakers out of plenary in Ondo

Lawmakers at the Ondo State House of Assembly were on Thursday chased out of plenary when a snake fell from the roof of the chamber.

The incident which took a dramatic turn occurred when one of the lawmakers noticed the snake struggling with the inner ceiling of the roof and raised alarm before it finally fell into the chamber.

The development forced the members to scamper to safety, leaving Thursday’s proceeding disrupted.

The snake finally escaped when efforts to kill it failed.

As a result of this, legislative activities have been suspended in the Assembly until the complex is renovated.
