Snake found in cargo forces Emirates to cancel flight
A flight from Muscat, Oman, to the U.A.E was cancelled by Dubai-based Emirates after a snake was found in the cargo of the plane.
The serpent was eventually captured and the plane is now back in service even as Emirates has not confirmed the species of the reptile or whether the snake was venomous.
According to an Emirates spokesperson speaking to Gulf News, no passenger was hurt after the reptile was spotted.
“Emirates can confirm that flight EK0863 from Muscat to Dubai on 8 January 2017, was cancelled due to a detection of a snake in the cargo hold prior to passengers boarding.
“Engineering and cleaning teams are working to clear the aircraft to re-enter service. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” the Emirates spokesperson said.
