I’ll provide 24-hour electricity if voted into power– Ezekwesili

Oby Ezekwesili, who recently stepped down as the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria ( ACPN ) has berated President Muhammadu Buhari for placing importance on ballot boxes above the lives of his Citizens.

Ezekwesili was reacting to a statement by President Buhari that whoever attempts to steal ballot boxes during the election does that at the expense of his life.

In a series of tweets early Wednesday morning, the former Minister for Education described the statement from the Chief Security Officer of the country as a display of “lust for power”.

She considered it ridiculous that the President could not channel same anger towards the perpetrators of extra judicial killings in Benue, Plateau, Kaduna and Zamfara states.

According to her, the President’s show of desperation was “a serious Error in the Land”.

She wrote, “There is a serious Error in the Land. Nothing has revealed this more than the passionate way some fellow citizens have actually defended the President’s directive to security personnel to prejudicial killings for Ballot Box snatching.

“The @NGRPresident ‘s and his followers lust for Power is laid brazen in how he has placed the Ballot Box above the Lives of his Citizens.

“I have watched the video clips of that statement by the President many times. His firm anger stood out.

“I then tried finding equivalent video clips of @MBuhari reacting with Firm Anger @ and a command to Prejudicial Killings of culprits of serial killings that have happened in Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara & other parts of the country. Zero. I found none.

“How did the scale of proportionality of the President’s angst at Ballot Box Snatchers diverge so widely from what he has ever directed @ those crimes of serial slaughter of his Citizens?

“What an Error! There is an Error in the Land but #GodShallForbidBadThing.”
