SocialMediaTrends: How Nigerians are reacting to Edo APC chair’s threat to kill Okpebhelo’s critic

The acting Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarrett Tenebe, has come under heavy fire after he threw caution into the wind and threatened to kill a critic of Governor Monday Okpebhelo following his budget presentation gaffe.

Tenebe got into trouble after a Facebook user, Pharez Okpere, made a post mocking the governor over his inability to read out the figures of the budget he was presenting to the State House of Assembly on Tuesday.

Making fun of the governor, Okpere had written:

“Your own budget is confusing to you.. Confusion break bone,” followed by three laughing emojis 😂🤣😂.

But Tenebe who apparently did not find the post funny, responded and said:

“Some people will have to excuse us from Edo now and if they refused, they will be forced out, we may start from you.”

In his response, Okpere wondered how Tenebe can force indigenes out of their state, to which the APC chairman fired back:

“Pharez Okpere if I ask you to leave and you refused, you’ll be killed.”

The threat which has since gon viral, has generated a lot of criticism from social media users who wonder why Tenebe would threaten to kill people just because they criticize the governor.

Many have called on the police to invite him for questioning while some others believe the police will not act since Tenebe is a member of the ruling APC.
