SOKOTO: Bandits kill over 20 in renewed attacks

SOKOTO: Two women, 13-yr-old boy rescued from kidnappers after a month

More than 20 persons were killed after Armed bandits invaded Dan Tatsako village in Goronyo local government area of Sokoto State in a new wave of attacks.

According to a local source in the local government, the bandits arrived in the village at night armed with sophisticated weapons and started shooting sporadically.

The source also said that apart from the more than Persons that were killed, houses and other properties were destroyed by the bandits during the attack, just as survivors of the attack fled the village to neigbouring communities within Goronyo and Isa Local Government areas of the state.

The attack was confirmed by the Sokoto State Police Command spokesman, Mohammed Sadiq but declined to give the casualty figure, saying the figure is yet to be ascertained.

The Northwest states of Sokoto and Zamfara have come under heavy attacks by armed bandits, leading to several loss of lives and property and abductions.
