Soldiers kill Boko Haram insurgents during attack on Adamawa community

Soldiers of the Nigerian military on Tuesday took down Boko Haram insurgents who invaded four communities in Madagali local government area of Adamawa state, destroying properties and killing a number of people.

The incident which had occurred three times in nine days forced a lot of residents out the communities.

The first attack which occurred on the 4th of February claimed the lives of 3 people. A village head and a soldier were killed on February 11.

One of the residents, Ruth on Wednesday reported that at least one person died from Ruwa where she escaped from.

However military sources in Madagali claimed that the soldiers subdued the insurgents after some exchange of gunfire, killing and seizing their weapons as well as vehicles.

The Adamawa state police Public Relations Officer Othsman Abubakar confirmed the killing of Boko Haram but did not confirm deaths of the residents.

According to him, a team of security personnel succeeded in dividing the Boko Haram insurgents, but that there was no sign of the death of any community person in the information before him.
