Son breaks Premier League record as Spurs edge Palace

Tottenham Hotspur forward, Son Heung-Min became the all-time highest Asian goalscorer in Premier League history after scoring against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

With the 64th-minute winner, Son increased his goals tally to 20 in 72 games to overtake the record of Park Ji-Sung who scored 19 league goals in 154 games.

Spurs weren’t anywhere near their best in the game at Wembley after their Champions League exertions over Real Madrid during the week, but with two shots on target, they grabbed all three points with Son’s goal.

The visitors’ best chance fell to Ivory Coast’s Wilfried Zaha in the second half, but he missed an open goal after going around Spurs goalkeeper.

“I think we deserved to win the game. It’s great to get the three points ahead of the international break and we’ll enjoy watching the rest of the football this afternoon,” Son said after the game.

After the international break, Tottenham will be hosted by Arsenal on November 18 in a Premier League matchday 12 clash.
