Sony Music MD threatens to sue YCEE after claims of ripping off Nigerian artistes

After accusations of being cheated, YCEE terminates deal with Sony Music

Michael Ugwu, Sony Music West Africa’s General Manager has reacted to claims by Tinny Music act, Ycee who revealed in a series of posts on his Twitter page that the Sony Music executive has ripped him and other acts signed onto the platform off their hard work.

Ugwu in his reply said that this is not the first time he has been called out and it will not be the last. He also noted that the act of making false and defamatory statements in the media about another which harms his reputation is libelous.

The Sony Music West Africa brand representative in his reply also informed YCEE that a contract is a “voluntary” arrangement between two or more parties that is enforceable by law as a binding legal document.

He also put it to YCEE that if he is aggrieved in anyway, there are appropriate methods of contract dispute resolutions which include; negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation.
