South African mafia boss to spend 35yrs behind bars

A mafia kingpin and businessman who has Czech roots has been sentenced to 35 years behind bars by a South African court for kidnapping and attempted murder.

Radovan Krejcir who is reported to be the ring leader of Johannesburg’s criminal underworld whose criminal records dates back to a drug deal in the year 2013.‎

A man who testified that Krejcir poured boiling water over his head also accused him of kidnapping him when the kingpin discovered that his brother had disappeared with 25kg (55lbs) of crystal meth.
According to BBC’s Pumza Fihlani in Johannesburg, Krejcir seems to be synonymous with drama, having tried to escape from custody a number of times.
Krejcir made local and international headlines months prior to his earlier arrest in 2013 when he surprisingly survived an attempt over his life using guns hidden behind a car number plate operated by remote control.
