South east governor to bankroll ADC convention

Published

on

Barring any last minute change in plans, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is billed to hold its national convention not later than July, the Saturday Telegraph has learnt.

The convention, which is tentatively fixed for the seventh month of the year, would witness the defection of many politicians from different parties and the influx of some bigwigs, including senators and governors across political divides into the fold. However, that is not the story!

The big news is that the event, which is scheduled to hold in one of the five states that make up the South East is being sponsored by one of the Igbo-speaking governors, who belongs to another party entirely.

Though the governor bankrolling the event as of now is not of the ADC party, investigations by Saturday Telegraph revealed that he has agreed to pick the bills for the convention based on his closeness to some leaders of the ADC, fueling speculations that he is set to join the emerging third force.
