South Korea says North Korea fired a failed missile
In what appeared to be a failed launch according to South Korean military, North Korea reportedly fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile which didn’t succeed in the early stages of its flight.
According to South Korea’s joint Chiefs of Staff in a statement, the missile fired by Pyongyang was launched at about 11:30 a.m. Seoul time (0230 GMT) in waters east of the Korean peninsula.
The missile launch by North Korea comes a day after the U.S. and South Korea pledged to deploy an anti-missile system to counter threats from Pyongyang.
It is also two days after Kim Jong-un’s government pledged it was planning its toughest response to what it deemed a “declaration of war” by the United States following Washington’s decision to blacklist North Korea’s  iron fisted leader.
