Ondo APC primaries: Boroffice calls for cancellation, rerun

Senator Ajayi Boroffice, who represents Ondo North constituency has also declared to run for the position of Deputy Senate President.

His declaration is coming even as his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has zoned the position of the House of Representatives Speaker for the 9th National Assembly to the South West.

The Ondo North senator made his intention known in a terse letter to the lawmakers at the red chamber, where he asked for their support.

The letter the senator signed himself reads, “With an excellent public service record, rich legislative experience and amiable personae, I consider myself the best candidate for the office of Deputy Senate President.

“In spite of our different backgrounds, religious beliefs and political inclinations, the business of National law-making has pulled us together as friends and colleagues.

“In this light, I humbly seek your cooperation, support and prayers in this election. Together we shall succeed.”

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is from South West, APC had already adopted Reps Majority Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila as next Speaker.
