Southgate to earn £500,000 in two months

England interim boss Gareth Southgate is set to earn £500,000 in two months as he sets about helping the Three Lions out of troubled waters and into the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Southgate has stepped into the shoes of Sam Allardyce, who left his position as Three Lions boss last week, and will receive a bumper pay-rise for doing so, according to The Times.

The 46-year-old’s annual salary as head coach of the England U21s is £500,000, but the Football Association are keen to upgrade his pay packet to one befitting an esteemed international coach.
