Kemi Olunloyo re-arrested, begs fans to raise N100k to perfect bail conditions

Controversial media personality Kemi Olunloyo has been freed from Port Harcourt Prison at last after being jailed for almost three months on grounds of defamation.

Moments after she was let off the hook, Kemi who spoke to newsmen said; “That prison is a big newsroom, but Nigerian prisons need reform. I met ex-Biafrans and Niger Delta agitators in the prison.”

Kemi was arrested and jailed after publishing an article on her blog accusing General Overseer of Salvation Ministries Pastor David Ibiyeomie of infidelity.

The journalist was picked up after Pastor Ibiyeomie petitioned the police claiming that she (Kemi) criminally defamed him by posting an article on her blog alleging he is an adulterer, a claim he said defamed his character.

Recall last week that Kemi accused the chief registrar attached to the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court of sitting on her case.

Kemi who had revealed that her lawyers had satisfied all bail requirements set by H.I.O. Shamah, a federal judge who granted her bail on April 11, alleged that the chief registrar is stalling her case in order to keep her perpetually behind bars.

However, the Deputy Chief Registrar, Maimunat Folami, denied such claims saying that her office had cooperated fully with Kemi’s counsel to ensure proper vetting of her bail documents which according to reports delayed her release.
