A report had put the number of Christians killed in recent time in the affected area at over 800. Though another report claimed the figure may have been exaggerated, it however claimed that at least, more 300 have been gruesomely murdered.

Confirming the latest attack, President of Atakad Community Development Association, Mr. Enock Andong, put the number of casualties at about 15 people while 55 houses were burnt.

It was learnt that the casualty figure would have been higher but for the arrival of security operatives in the affected areas.
