Sports Minister endorses NFF’s deal for Le Guen

After few days of persuasion, Nigeria Sports Minister, Solomon Dualung, has approved the move by the Nigeria Football Federation to appoint Frenchman Paul Le Guen as the next coach of the Super Eagles in a two-year deal that is renewable based on the team’s performance.

Ripples.com.ng scooped that Daulung who maintained that the prevailing economy crises would not allow the country to embark on such a huge task, had a change of heart after a meeting the NFF in Abuja on Tuesday.

“Dualung tactically said the NFF should put their house in order and said they have one month to do more consultations,” revealed a source who was close to the meeting.

It was further gathered that the NFF in their presentation argued that all arrangement have been concluded to fund the payment of Le Guen from their corporate sponsors.

The coach, who demanded a house in Lagos, is expected to earn a whopping 40,000 Euros monthly, but will equally be the one to pay his assistant and a trainer from the monthly salary during his three-year tenure.

Le Guen, who was born 1 March 1964, is a French football manager and a former player.
His last role was as manager of the Oman national football team, from which he was relieved in November 2015.
