Tottenham Hotspur failed to seal their place in the top 4 of the English Premier League after losing a 1-0 at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Spurs, who are preparing for a vital match against Ajax in the Champions League next Wednesday, were reduced to 9 men in either halves.

Son Heung-min was dismissed for pushing Jefferson Lerma towards halftime, before Juan Foyth was also sent off two minutes after coming on after the break as he slid studs-up into Jack Simpson.

But despite their numerical advantage, Bournemouth were unable to capitalise until Nathan Ake grabbed a 91st-minute winner, heading in from a corner.

Spurs have now won just once in their past four league games and stay third on 70 points, above Arsenal and Chelsea in close proximity.

The Mauricio Pochettino side are now only one game away from wrapping up their league season, and will face Everton next Sunday.

Spurs will play away to Netherlands side, Ajax, in the reverse fixture of their Champions League semifinal tie on Wednesday.

Ajax, who defeated Real Madrid and Juventus on their way to this stage, won the first leg 1-0 in London, and will also be looking at reaching the Madrid final billed for June 1st.
