SPY POISONING ROW: UK playing with fire, Russia warns

The diplomatic row between Russia and the West still festers as Moscow has told the UK that it will be sorry for accusations levelled against it over the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yaulia on British soil.

Russian UN ambassador Vassily Nebenzia while speaking at the UN headquarters held up a British report on the Salisbury incident saying the UK is ‘playing with fire’ by accusing Moscow of being behind last month’s nerve agent attack.

“I don’t even know what to say, it’s some sort of theatre of the absurd, couldn’t you come up with a better fake story? Nebenzia told the Security Council.

“We have told our British colleagues that ‘you’re playing with fire and you’ll be sorry’.”

Diplomatic tensions between the two countries have been on the rise after what the UK and its allies alleged that Russia was behind the nerve-agent attack on Sergei and his daughter in the southern English city of Salisbury last March.
