STATE CONGRESSES: APC factions renew hostilities
As a sequel to the political drama that trailed last Saturday’s local government congresses of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the gladiators are set for another round of hostilities today across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
The tension that greeted the earlier two crisis-ridden congresses; ward and local government, reared its ugly head earlier in the week, when some factions that lost out in the previous elections vowed to intensify the battle and reclaim superiority.
This is coming as some warring factions have headed to courts to nullify the earlier exercises, claiming they were fraught with irregularities while asking the courts to put on hold, today’s programme in their different states.
