Still grieved with APC, Amosun holds another meeting with Buhari

Despite his grievances with the conduct and outcome of the primary election of the APC in the state, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state had reportedly met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa.

Amosun had severally expressed his displeasure with the national leadership of the party, including the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu.

Amosun who has the party’s ticket for the senatorial seat of Ogun central failed to secure the party’s gubernatorial ticket for his preferred candidate, Adekunle Akinlade.

The development led to the defection of Akinlade to the Allied People’s Movement (APM) alongside some other loyalists of Amosun while the governor had threatened to fight with all he had to ensure the APM’s candidate succeeds him as the next governor of the state.

The APC had submitted the name of Dapo Abiodun to INEC as the candidate of the party.

There was no official statement as to the reason for the meeting, as at the time of filing this report.
