STOCKHOLM ATTACK: Fifth victim dies in hospital

The number of victims who have lost their lives after a terrorist ploughed his truck into a busy street filled with pedestrians in Stockholm, Sweden has unfortunately risen to five.

The victim identified as a 66-year-old Marie Kide who was injured in the April 7 attack passed on after she failed to respond to treatment according to Swedish authorities.

“It is with sorrow that I have received the message that another person died,” Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said.

“The aim of this kind of attack is to spread terror and hatred,” Lofven told Sweden’s news agency TT. “We will do everything in our power so people can be safe in Sweden.”

A 39-year-old Uzbek man, Rakhmat Akilov, has pleaded guilty to the terrorist crime after ramming a truck into a crowd on a busy pedestrian shopping street in the Swedish capital.

One more suspect was also arrested after the attack according to Swedish police who say the man had a connection with the first suspect arrested in connection with the terror onslaught.
